Super Rookie @ 5:51 pm
I had a dream the other night.
Like most dreams the main idea and characters were from situations that I have encountered or thought about in the recent past. So, with out further ado…
I had a dream that this guy:

Was an American Gladiator.
His nickname?
“The Polygamist”
He excelled at Assualt and at the Wall (clearly from his upper body strength).

I thought Edwards was in St Paul just yesterday, telling people to ignore the rumors of his demise.
Maybe he should have rode the Straight Talk Express to his St Paul Rally.
Jake talks the Straight Talk.

Little Guy and I decided that the Grumpy’s/LGR team needed a new slogan.
We went with the tried and true:

Little Guy and I also decided that you can’t really mess with “Straight Talkin.” Hell, how can you disagree with a 71 year old man who “shoots from the hip?” In fact, most of my colleagues in school, you know, former Marines, don’t like the idea of a 71 year-old President, but when I tell them that he is a Straight Talker, they settle down and realize that nothing could possibly go wrong.
In fact, they tend to think, “Wow. I could go have a beer with a Straight Talker, I think I will vote for the guy.” This is the power of the Straight Talk Express. People don’t even need to look at your record or agree with anything you have to say, in fact if they can have a beer with you and somehow find a way to believe your Straight Talk you stand a chance.
Look for it around the state wherever the Little Guy and I are.
In fact, I am doing some Straight Talk right now on this here blog.
You know who sucks?
Arsenal.
Yep, that is correct.
See what I did there? I did some Straight Talking.
…

Edwards isn’t just a Straight Talker. He is my homeboy.

Watch this video.
This is how miserable it is to be a fan of Manchester City.
These damn balloons were brought by their own fans!
Argh.
Out of the FA Cup now.

My favorite picture of the 2007 racing season.
It was on the way to the Duluth for the Memorial Day races.
As you can see, I was on the S-R nutritional plan.

I decided to go one step further utilizing the techniques that N1CKS showed me:

At least one team got it right…

This, my friends, is an awesome kit. Kudos to my old teammates down in Chicago.
Distinctive? Yes.

I am two years late on telling the world about these two albums, but Sarah and I have been completely in love with both of them since I re-received these for Christmas. While I don’t have as an extensive and highly accurate list as Driver 2165 (who by the way just gave his second son a kick ass name), I do have two albums that most people should go out and buy.
1. Why? Elephant Eyelash (anticon)

Sure. It came out 2 years ago. It is in solid rotation, and Sarah even dubbed it her favorite album of all time. I used to listen to Why? all the time when he was part of the cloudDEAD and Reach Quiet groups of yesteryear, but his band work has taken him to another level. His 2007 single “The Hollows” is also an awesome song, heck even the Driver agrees.
2. Buck 65 Secret House Against The World (Warner Bros. Canada)

Buck65 has been around for years. This 2005 release is easily his best, but his recent release Situation is just as awesome, but since I am two years behind the curve I will give a little props to this one first. If you are ever looking to see a good live show then you should see Buck at least once. About 8 years ago I saw him at the Station4 bar in St. Paul. What a crappy location that was, but the show was rather amazing.
Anyways.
Cheers.

It is 83 days till the Durand World Championships Road Race.
I have done more riding this year than I did all of last year outside of racing. Quite amazing really. I must be sort of actually dedicated. While I am not pounding out the miles like Lalla in Texas, I am still actually riding. Today we went out west and I did a ton of this:

(that would be “dropping the hammer.”)
In fact, although I was the only one “dropping the hammer” the rest of the LGR team was doing this:

Good times were had out west.
…
(dis) has a good post over on his blog. He even uses these photos:

and!!!!

(look at Homme!)
To bad (dis) couldn’t find a way to use this photograph:

(Did Timmer forget it was “shorts” day?)
Oh. Only 83 more days and we won’t need the lame internet crap.

I just saw this on Cyclingnews…
Anonymous cyclist sues USADA
By Steve Medcroft
The Associated Press reported on Friday that an unnamed cyclist filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking an injunction to prevent USADA from testing a backup urine sample the agency took during the 2006 racing season even though, as the suit claims, the A sample for the rider returned a negative result.
Since international rules dictate that an athlete can only be considered to have returned a sanctionable positive doping test if both the A and B sample return positive results, the suit claims that the order of a B test following a negative A test amounts to harrassment of the rider.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of ‘John Doe’ by the same legal team that represented Floyd Landis in his doping case before USADA, is asking for a jury trial to recoup damages the cyclist claims he suffered when USADA notified race organizers and a testing lab that the rider was under suspicion of doping.
Landis is reported to have told the Associated Press that he is not the plaintiff in the suit levaing the identity of the rider, and the race from which the testing was ordered, a mystery.
I know who I think it is. There have been rumors all over the place, but I won’t participate
