Whew.

Super Rookie @ 9:54 pm

This past weekend was a hoot.

On Friday I got dropped at the Northfield Criterium, but I was able to finish. I was pretty stoked about that as it was one of my goals on the day. The legs were really sore going into the race from the track the night before and I just wanted to have some fun at the second coolest crit course in Minnesota. The highlight was putting in an attack half way through the race that did absolutely nothing.

The rest of the weekend was nothing but sitting around with friends watching the tour, having a beer, and riding bicycles. The highlight on Sunday (besides Christoph Moreau’s attack) was joining 15 other individuals from the Grumpy’s/LGR family at the velodrome for a team night. A bunch of people that have never ridden the track took to the boards and we all had a hoot.

The tour is off to a sweet start. Valverde won stage one on the awesome yellow Pinerello and stage two was pretty exciting with Hushvold taking the sprint. However, the highlight by far was Christoph Moreau attacking about 50k out to take some KOM points and almost making it to the finish. Moreau is going to win the Polka Dot jersey…that is a Super-Rookie.com guarantee.

The Thunder are back this Friday. They are playing at the stadium in Blaine and the field is supposed to be all finished. It should be a good game and we can’t wait to make it back up there for some good soccer.

  1. Wow, that’s some racing goal, to get dropped! I can do that without paying the gas to get to Northfield or the race entry fee.
