The Gophers whooped Michigan State’s butt today in East Lansing. Basset Creek whooped my ass today in Crystal, Minnesota as I couldn’t even finish. I guess it was a 50-50 day. The Gophers showed up to play. I showed up with my mind in a knot.
It is amazing how much getting prepared for a race matters. When you show up at a race and stand in line, pay your money, change and then stand around till the start of your race without pre-riding the course bad things are going to happen. When I concentrate on what I need to do I am decent. When I don’t do crap before a race I barely have the legs to finish one lap.
It wasn’t the best day for the new team. Although Fil and (dis)pencer had respectful finishes and Karla did walk away with a second place at the State Chumpionships it was relatively a downer. The Little Guy had a wonderful start, but just couldn’t finish the race. I was about to pull out of the race when I heard a lovely psssssst sound coming from my back wheel on the stair run-up. Lalla said I let the air out of my tire. I wish I would have done that before the start…I just wasn’t thinking. Now I have to change a damn tube.
…
The season is over and I couldn’t be happier.
Wait?
What was that?
Crap. I hate Iowa.
I wish there could have been a Veterans call up, it would seem no one likes America and her freedoms that our Vets put there life on the line for. Its all about Respect.
It was a fun CX season thanks racers and promoters.

Bummer on the flat. But it’s a good thing you’ve still got Iowa – you wouldn’t want to end the season with a flat tire.

I think you mean “respectable” finishes?
