The Campus Crit=Drama Central.

Super Rookie @ 4:21 pm

Once again I have found myself in the epicenter of a drama-shit storm courtesy of the events that transpired at the Campus Criterium. Luckily, I had nothing to do with it! Where shall I begin? Hmmmm.

How about with good ol’ Homme over at Nickelnuts.com whom decided to dole out some free advice on how to win the Grumpy’s/LGR Campus Crit. Tuffy was the only one to follow the advice in his Masters 4/5 race. He easily won in the sprint. Hands down. No one had a chance. He even had time to do some sweet no hands salute. Nice job (you have no idea how hard it is for me to say that).

All is good in the neighborhood right? Errrrrrrr. Wrong. Turns out Tuffy aka Coach Puffy pissed some people off during his win. Matter of a fact let’s read about it here. This Andy Frye dude is rather pissed (hey Andy thanks for the link and coming out! I will get a link up once you pass the 2 month probationary period of blogging). The best part about it is that Andy just started his blog a few days ago. This kid is going to be giving me a run for my money in shit-starting! I need to shut this down stat.

Every thing is cool right? Wrong again. Sickboy decided to jump in and make a comment that had no need. He wasn’t even in the race, but he wanted to comment again. Perhaps he thinks that the amount of comments he makes effect his TROY score? No? After the timber is lit we got all types of shit going on over at Frye’s blog. Even Smithers jumps in.

At about this time Homme has to come in and make a judgment call. Rules in favor of Tuffy. Than somebody jumps in and says that Tuffy only won because people crashed. Cry me a river on that one. Tuffy, who is an ass–he will admit this–beat you all fair and square and now you are pissed.

Whew. Done with the drama thank god.

Wait what was that? Did you say Smithers made an innocent post? No. Not more drama!

What kind of post could possibly create drama from the CNN of local cycling? This post?

Who could possibly create drama out of this? Ummmm. One guess. You all can read it, but it ends with a certain individual being told not to show up with a dirty bike or it will be thrown in the river.

All of this drama was caused because of the Campus Criterium bike race! Holy crap. Now only if I could find a way to charge for drama because then we would have broken even rather than a grand in the hole. But, what can you do? At least we promoted a race among some very difficult conditions.

You know who would be proud of me right now? Donimator. Think he ain’t?

Guess how Donimator paid for the Campus Crit?

  2. Drama rules. Why couldn’t there be more in my race?

  3. I had such a mellow lovely day in my little corner with my hand-held and my water. The only mean thing I saw was number 710 visibly shove number 725 nearly into that huge puddle in the cat. 4/5 race. That made me sad.

Somebody get Sickboy to start blogging again so he can be contained to one blog instead of 100.

Because I wasn’t racing. If I was in there people would be talking about my sweet skills.

The Campus Crit was awesome and it will be 20x better next year.

  8. And people say all the drama is at the track…

  9. All of this, all of it, is exactly why the internet was invented.

Drama, it is the very reason to ride the information superhighway.

I am so glad that Super-Rookie has taken my instructions to heart.

God bless you sir, and god bless the dramanet.

  10. I don’t know what you’re all going on about…the only thing anyone should be commenting on about the campus crit is how smokin’ the girls at the registration tables were! :)

  11. Why do you think I kept leaving my post to walk up to the registration area? Good stirring the pot, Tim. Sheesh, you make one comment on Smither’s blog about yuppie instead of hippie and all hell breaks loose. Note to the world: THERE ARE NO HIPPIES LEFT ON THIS PLANET.

  12. Yes, Leslie, thanks so much to the reg girls for putting extra super heavy strain on my long-distance relationship!
