My favorite “Elite Amateur” team has a new sponsor. No longer are they representing crappy energy bars, they have now moved onto the world of useless “energy” water. Quite funny really. As if their first source of energy wasn’t good enough they now have to rely on flavored water to help them rise through the ranks of “elite amateur cat3″ being.
I must admit that they had an awesome old website (new one is not better), but they have failed to show up to any challenge in which I have also appeared. My guess is that they remain scared, but only time will tell. Hmmmm. Let’s take a look back at my love affair with the old team.
Example. (Featuring the Team PowerBar SouthEast Elite Masters Team).
Example. (Check the bottom of the disapprove list).
Example. (An example of my team’s dominance over theirs).
Example. (The time in which new Grumpy’s/LGR member Sexy Adam whooped ClifBar’s ass).
Example. (About one of the many times I kicked their ass at Kenosha Velodrome).
Example. (My first ever encounter with this team in the pretend-olon).
Example. (About the time one of the ClifBar riders admitted he liked PowerBars better. He was dismissed from the team the next year!).
…
Wow. This Vitamin Water team is sooooooo overrated. They got a mention in CyclingNews (not the New York Times).
Oh well. I will give them there twelve seconds of glory on my site.
Good luck this season with your combined 60 years of experience.
I do in all sincerity wish them luck, but my guess is that you people wont be able to see through the awesomeness of this post. In fact, one of the new members is an old buddy of mine. My guess is that they brainwash him.
You know you’ve arrived when Tim is kind enough to endure through an hour of plugging away on those tiny Palm Treo keys to devote a whole posting about you…

I don’t know who you are, but I must say, you have a lot of free time on your hands.
Maybe if you spent less time in front of the computer:
a. Reading about others guys doing what you can’t even wish for,
b. Complaining about how lame others bike riders are, and
c. Telling the world how awesome you are…
…maybe you might be a better bike racer instead of a lowly Cat 3 like the rest of us. But I guess you don’t really care about that because you have already proven to everyone how truly great you and your blog are.
I sincerely wish you luck as well… and look forward to seeing you on the road. I’ll make sure to bring a couple of extra bottles of my useless water to flush out your eyes… after I make them cry.

Jason-
Don’t take it personally. This has been nothing but a tongue in cheek “rivalry” on both sides for 2 years now. Not worth getting worked up over. Besides, all press is good press, right?

So being a Category 3 Elite Team must make you feel good? It’s like saying I’m on a semi pro “D” league hockey team. Haha
So are they still a 3s team or 1/2s?
See yeah in Blackhawk country.

I am intrigued by this one.
I can only wish for what?

I do believe the “elite” designation is because this new team has cat 2 riders.
If you would move up to that category, I’d be more than happy to show you how to talk with you legs, and not your computer, boy.

Wrong again.
The “elite” status of this team was thrown out there 3 years ago at the start, so your argument is wrong.
I suggest you race on the track, where I am technically “elite,” or you will just have to wait for me to talk with my legs, which I assure you will happen.
But in the meantime I will talk with my computer, boy.
